Gary Parker's Short Story "It Only Takes One"

Welcome to the 79 years of memories of Gary Parker.'s and the jobs he has worked..

He asked his dad Burrell Parker to buy him a camera when he was 11 years old. Dad said he was going to have to earn the money himself and built him a shoeshine box. It only took a month and Gary had his camera.

This was in San Diego, California 1959. Gary eventually got his brothers newspaper route and Gary was rolling in the dough. Dear old dad retired from the Navy and the family moved to San Joaquin California. Gary started high school. In his junior year, Gary signed up for the US Navy reserve and that summer went to an accelerated Boot Camp in San Diego. After Boot Camp, Gary returned to Tranquility Union high school for his senior year. After graduation, Gary was activated by the Navy reserve and learned how to send and received Morse code. He was stationed in Germany and Scotland. This is all written about in the short story "It Only Takes One"
